Case Study: Contigo energía Website Upgrade
Initial Context
Contigo energía, a leading Spanish company in the clean energy sector, was facing a significant digital challenge with its old WordPress website. Although the site provided static information about rates, the dynamic nature of the energy market required a platform capable of updating rates daily and allowing for manual updates when necessary.
The Challenge
The main challenge was to develop a rates page that could not only be easily edited through its CMS but also integrate a system to automatically update daily prices. This was essential to provide accurate and up-to-date information to customers, crucial in a market where prices fluctuate constantly.
Development Proposal
Working closely with Contigo energía's development team, we implemented a robust system that connected to an external service to read updated price data and reflect it in the CMS. We created a specific content type called “Rate,” which allowed the Contigo energía team to manage commercial information such as names, colors, descriptions, and benefits for each rate. Additionally, we introduced a rate listing with a power filter to facilitate user navigation.
The Solution
We developed custom code to integrate the rate update service, enabling automatic synchronization with the content type in the CMS. We also implemented a plugin to clear the cache and allow manual updates of rates, ensuring that the website always displayed accurate and up-to-date information.
