ēllu is a revolutionary messaging app, designed to offer much more than instant communication. The platform combines private chat, personal security tools, and social features, all while prioritizing user privacy. With this disruptive vision, ēllu wanted to go one step further: incorporate an integrated e-commerce that offered subscriptions and exclusive products within its ecosystem. The main challenge was to build an e-commerce system that was not only aligned with ēllu’s values of security and privacy, but could also handle complex subscriptions and scalability, integrating completely within its app.

Design and implement a robust and secure e-commerce that:

• It would allow you to manage customizable subscriptions with a recurring payment model.
• It will support a high volume of simultaneous transactions .
• It will guarantee the privacy of users , which is key for ēllu.
• It would integrate seamlessly into the mobile app they were developing.
• Additionally, an infrastructure was needed that could support real-time operations , such as notifications related to purchases and subscription renewals.
• Develop an administration panel to manage subscriptions, orders, customers and products.

From the start, we approached the project as a close collaboration with the ēllu team, ensuring that every technical and functional decision was aligned with the expected user experience. Our strategy included: Complex subscription management:

• We implemented an advanced Stripe-based system to handle recurring payments and allow users to easily manage their plans from within the app.
• Scalable Architecture with Pub/Sub: We designed an architecture based on an event-driven system and queue processing, using Google Cloud Pub/Sub to manage key events such as renewals, payment notifications, and real-time updates asynchronously. This approach ensures efficient processing and data integrity, guaranteeing optimal performance even during peak demand.
• Security and privacy: We adhered to the highest security standards to ensure that user information was always protected, integrating encryption and anonymization measures.
• In-app integration: We developed a fully integrated experience, where users could explore, purchase, and manage subscriptions without leaving the ēllu app.

To address the challenges posed, we focused on developing a comprehensive and scalable solution. The e-commerce was designed using modern and reliable technologies, including Stripe for managing secure payments and implementing complex subscriptions , as well as Pub/Sub queues to ensure efficient processing of critical tasks. This allowed us to handle real-time processes, such as synchronizing users between the app and the e-commerce, and managing orders and subscriptions.

We integrated e-commerce directly into the ēllu app , ensuring a seamless shopping experience for users. Additionally, we developed a custom admin panel that allows the ēllu team to manage users, subscriptions, orders, customers, and products from a single place . To further improve user interaction and offer direct support, we incorporated Intercom , a customer service tool that allows for personalized and efficient communication with customers.

This solution not only met the technical requirements, but also prepared the infrastructure for ēllu’s future growth, ensuring the system is flexible, secure and easy to manage.
